Deb partially overhears a conversation between the director and stage manager. The cast deduce that they are performing at the Tony Awards in two weeks, but in reality, things are not going that well.
Meanwhile, Chris struggles to understand why his boyfriend, Jamie, doesn’t want to come see any of his shows.
Richard, the associate choreographer, shows up unannounced, and tries to change all of the choreography 45 minutes before the show.
Simultaneously, when the young Balloon Boy doesn’t show up, Patrick, the stage manager has to resort to using a cast member's cousin.
Deb and Patrick have a fight. Everyone thinks the show is going to be cancelled.
Also, a negative review is put out about the show and read aloud in the dressing room, sending one cast member into a spiral.
After a day off, everyone returns to the theatre to find out that all the costumes and props have been stolen. The cast stumble upon a solution to do the show that night.
Florence brings in cookies without knowing that there’s weed in them.
The new swing, Emma, starts on the tour and everyone thinks she’s the first of many to replace all of them. However, when it comes time for Emma to go on, it turns out she doesn’t know any of the show. Brenda saves the show with an unusual plan.
It's also Chelsea’s birthday, and she invites everyone to her party except for one other cast member: Brenda.
When trying to console Chris about his breakup, Deb clashes with Chris about how best to approach big life decisions.
Deb finds out that one of the producers, Desmond, is at the show and has a plan to help save money: either Deb will be fired, or the entire ensemble will. Deb is determined to make sure its not her.
Meanwhile, Colin's mom comes to the show, who hates theatre.
